It was just something you couldn't escape. Something that seemed to follow you everywhere. Elise knew she wasn't going to get away from it, especially not here.
The way change sounded when it was being jostled about drove her crazy. It didn't help that change was all anyone had on them. Someone desperately needed to create a less annoying form of money before she drove herself up the wall.
Merchants weren't being nearly as pushy as they usually would be on a hot, sunny day. It was an attitude adjustment Elise enjoyed; the guards were more at ease, and no thieves seemed to be on the loose. No one in the place seemed to pay much attention to the blonde. There wasn't really annything eye catching about her.
Today the only thing that stood out about the girl was the color of her eyes. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a bun and tucked safely out of her face. Her clothes made her look like a male, as usual. There was nothing that gave clues on how she would react to something. Personalities were sometimes shown through what someone wore, but that idea didn't really apply to Eli.
Why should it? There was no reason to try to stand out. Everyone was the same, for the most part. She couldn't care less about how she was perceived by random passerby's.
With the expulsion of a faint sigh, Elis turned into a small stall where an old man was selling leather goods. She needed a new quiver and a new pack, provided he wanted to sell her something for a reasonable price.

Pondering quietly to himself, Edward stood at the leather stand. He needed a new wallet, since some one so kindly stole his. It was a good thing he never actually kept all him money in his wallet.... Picking out a nice little pouch, he handed over some change and started to walk away, but one of the quivers caught his eye. He wasn't sure why, considering he wasn't even efficient at bow and arrow, but he stopped to check it out anyway. After asking how much it was, Edward was seriously contemplating on it.... he DID have a bow.... and it would give him an excuse to start shooting again.... ah, what the heck. It wasn't like he didn't have the money. But then again.... a new sheath for his sword would probably do him better.... Ed stood there, thinking it over, taking all the time in the world. He was in no hurry, after all.

It was not long after she had spotted a quiver that a tiny blonde man was blocking it from her view. Sure, she could see over him, but where was the fun in that? Eli didn't know whether she should be rude or kind to the little twelve year old boy. He was, after all, at the stand before she had even arrived. It was odd that he would just stand there and think for so long. She needed to get a move on with her day, so she decided she would kindly ask the little boy to move.
"Um, excuse me, little boy, but I'd like to get a better view of that quiver. Could you please step aside for just a moment?" Elise took pleasure in being a pleasant person. It simply wasn't in her nature to start off being rude. Then again, this boy had indeed started it by cutting her off like he was the better one in thisntown.
It was probably best to just ignore the whole situation, anyway. There were other shops and merchants that sold leather goods. It all depended on the price of said quiver and it's apparent usability. There was no point investing money into a faulty item that would not last longer than a week, anyway.

looking over his shoulder, Ed saw a tall girl stAnding behind him. "Oh, of course. Sorry about that." He took a step to the side, successfully getting out of the girls way. 'I guess I won't be getting the quiver after all....' he thought to himself. 'Oh well, a sheath will be better anyway. Mine's getting worn out.' Paying no more attention the the girl, Ed started to make his way out of the stall. No need to stay here anymore.... He could get a sheath somewhere else. If he got lucky, he might be able to get a new sword, or At least get his sharpened.... His stomach then made a noise. 'Well. I suppose that means I'm eating first.... Heh.' Sighing to himself, he began to look for the nearest food shack.

It wasn't long before Eli realized the quiver wasn't worth a cent; not only was it improperly bound, but it also was outrageously overpriced. She set off in search of another stand that dealt with other leather goods. This place also had bows and swords for sale, and the bright colors in their banner did their other advertising methods no justice. Elise was drawn in with a few others to look at what was for sale.
Everything seemed to be in tip top shape. Everything was bound properly and seemed to be fairly priced, including the longbows they had hanging. Though she hadn't come here for a new bow or arrows, she could use a few new bowstrings. Why bother to craft somethiung yourself when you have a little extra cash?
Two seconds later, Eli walked away from the leather goods with a brand new quiver and two new bow strings. Though she wanted to leave, she couldn't. For some reason, she was being pushed toward the food court area of the market. Not one to abandon her senses, she walked in that general direction once more, barely aware of the others around her. This led her to bump into none other than the twelve year old boy she had rammed into earlier.
"Pardon me, I wasn't paying attention..."

Edward had just bought some food, when he was rammed into from behind, causing him to drop his food onto the ground. Cursing to himself, he turned to the person who had bumped them, ready to give them a piece of his mind, but stopped dead when he saw it was the lady from before. For one, he couldn't curse in front of a girl. That was just something he refused to do. Second, he was mildly busy noticing how attractive she actually was. "O-oh.... its you. Yea.... it's okay...." Looking down at his now dirt covered food he mumbled, "I wasn't that hungry anyway...." as his stomach growled. It was an obvious lie, but he was doing his best to not look like an idiot.

Oh, great. He had food that had spilled all over the ground. As if this situation wasn't bad enough already. Eli frowned thoughtfully. This wasn't good. She felt terrible for bumping into him now, whereas before she didn't actually care. Without another thought, she withdrew some money from her coin purse and held it out to him.
"I'm terribly sorry about that. I should have been paying attention. Here, this should be more than enough to reimburse your investment in that food." It was clear to her that he was lying about his current 'not hungry' state by the roar that accompanied the statement. It wasn't fair to him that she was wandering about being a dumb blonde, and she intended to take full responsibility for her actions.
As she looked at the boy, she began to realize he wasn't twelve like she had originally thought, either. God, why did she have to be so judgemental?

Edward laughed and shook his head. "I don't need any extra money, really. I'm fine. I'll just buy some more, no big deal. Ed gave the girl a smile. It was too kind of her to offer. Stepping back in the line, he looked over at her, "Hey, are you hungry? I can get you something if you want." Ed wasn't sure why he was asking, but he was just in a good mood and just felt like being nice. It wasn't like he couldn't afford it, and he might as well spend it before someone tried to steal it again....
The line started moving again and Ed looked at her. "Coming?"

Elise was not going to let this boy waste his money on her when she was the one who owed him... that and an apple would truthfully satisfy what little hunger she had to offer at the moment. In a few moments, she was following the little man through the crowd and toward the food stands. She'd simply undermine the money transfer and pay for everything herself.
It sounded like a great idea, and one that would surely work! Her confidence in herself showed, though no other trace of emotion could be found on her fair face. In response to the boy's question she nodded. She was, indeed, coming.

Happy that she was coming, Edward headed to a nearby food shack. After looking through everything they had he picked out some rice and bread and looked over to her. "What do you want.... ah what's your name? I never caught it...." Ed always had a bad habit of doing that. He'd go out and meet someone completely new and never find out what their names were. Some friend he was.... "Oh, and my name's Edward, by the way, but you can call me Ed." He gave her a cute little smile, trying to put his best face forward. He hated getting off on the wrong foot with people. It was never a pleasant thing.

Eli studied the food the boy picked curiously. Some kind of maggot looking substance, and bread. It seemed to her that it would be bland, definitely not something she herself would choose to eat on her own. When the boy spoke, Elise's long ears perked up and she looked at him with her stunningly blue eyes.
"My name is Elise Larabelle, Eli or Belle if I like you enough." She gave him a tiny smile and grabbed an apple off of the bland food place's bland counter. There wasn't any fruit she didn't like, but there were some vegetables. Elise made a mental note of the boy's name and decided she was still going to pay for his food.

"Well.... Elise, I hope that we can become friends. You seem like a nice friend to have. You can never have too many, you know." Edward, keeping his smile in place, put all the food by the owner of the tiny shack, signaling that he was ready to pay. The man rambled off the total cost and Edward reached into his pocket, pulling out some coins. "Are you sure that's all you want? If you're afraid of spending all my money, you don't have to worry about that, I assure you." He looked at her for any last signs that she wanted anything more to eat. He really didn't want her to starve on his account....

"I agree." Elise continued to follow him down the line of hungry people, who, for the most part, didn't look too hungry. Most of them were simply lazy nobles that didn't want to cook for themselves. Their weight clearly stated that they weren't hungry, but that didn't faze their stomachs.
As the man spoke the total and Edward turned to ask her a question, Elise took the opportunity and gave the man the correct amount of coins. "Thank you, sir." With that being said, she turned on her heel and sashayed away from the crowd of people.

Just as Ed was about to hand the kind man some money, the girl.... ahh.... Elise, handed the man money instead. "Hey! W-wait a minute! I was supposed to pay for that, not you!" Edward stubbornly followed Elise, not willing to let her get away with it that easily. "What? So you're just going to pay for my food and walk away? that's it?" This just wasn't fair.... She shouldn't have done that.... It made him feel like a hobo looking to use people to buy him things that he wants. He wasn't like that at all!

Elise turned and looked at Edward. He was clearly offended that she had paid for him, but she didn't really care. "Look, Edward, I was going to pay for that food because I bumped you and caused you to spill your other. As for 'that being it', I would love to socialize, but I should probably get going home, unless you intend to escort me there and protect me in the dark." She was trying to get out of a clearly soon-to-be sticky situation, and she wasn't particularly ready to have a tussle with this boy in the marketplace. If he wanted to accompany her home, then fine, but she wasn't going to babysit his little self.
