Being as indecisive as she was, it took Elise forever to choose a horse. She went with the large and fat Palomino mare with the longer mane. Not only could she steer well with that long hunk of hair, but the fat was softer and much better. The mare seemed lazy, but Elise had no doubt she could get her to get a move on.
Just as Elise was coaxing the mare out of the stable when she noticed the herd of horse riders outside, pointing in the direction Ith had gone. Elise decided she would have to do something to keep them off of her tail, and she would have to do it fast. Without another thought, she pretended to fall and let out a yelp.
"Oh, no! That terrible, terrible horse! She simply will not go back in the stable. Oh, heavens, I may just be late..." Further expressing her talent for acting, she pretended to casually notice the herd of men on their horses. Her eyes brightened. "You look like a nice bunch of capable men. Could you help me with my horse? I need a saddle and a bridle, or they may just hang me... she said she would eat my soul if I was late! Whatever shall I do..."
Clearly the routine had worked on one of the men, because he climbed off and walked proudly into the stable, nabbing a saddle, bridle, and even a saddle pack. He brought them out and saddled the mare like a pro. The others just sat around and watched, silently pondering what was really going on.
(Soooo tempted to make Zak a part of that party. lol.)

Ith slows her horse when she hears Elise's exclamation. Looking back she saw that the elf was distracting the men. Ith felt an enormous sense of gratitude towards the girl, no one had ever helped her before, especially after then had found out she was a demon.
Ith was unsure what to do, if she waited for Elise then the men would come for her because they would no longer be distracted. Mar danced in place, ready to get moving and Ith made up her mind, she would have to leave the elf here, or there would be no hope of escape from the hunters.
With a grateful wave towards Elise Ith turned Mar and galloped out of the village, headed far away.
(End i guess, unless you have something you would like to respond.)
